About Emilio Alvarado
Emilio Alvarado has over 30 years of military and law enforcement firearms training and instructor experience. He is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and a retired Detective Investigator from the New York City Police Department’s Forensic Investigations Division. Staff Sergeant Alvarado served as an Formal School Instructor and marksmanship coach. As a Detective Investigator within the NYPD he created a civilian firearms training program for the Police Laboratory and Detective Training Bureau and a was assigned as a Firearms Examiner. While assigned to the NYPD Firearms & Tactics Unit, he trained with the US Federal Air Marshals, local and state jurisdictions and trained as a Defensive Tactics Instructor with Federal Bureau of Investigations at the United States Military Academy at West Point. He has testified an expert witness in firearms training and forensic analysis. He has had his firearms expertise published on two occasions in forensic journals. Emilio has also earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice Research & Policy and a Master of Science in Emergency Management.
