About Kelland Sundahl
Kelland is an internationally certified forensic photographer who has photographed and documented more than four thousand medicolegal autopsies and death scenes.
She entered the field in 2017 after receiving specialized training at the Miami-Dade County Medical Examiner Service. She is currently the only International Association of Identification certified Forensic Photographer in Canada.
Kelland started working at the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner in 2018 as a Forensic Evidence Specialist.
In her role, she is responsible for establishing operational procedures governing digital workflow, the collection and management of forensic evidence, and teaching and maintaining autopsy and scene photography standards for a team of forensic evidence specialists and medical death investigators. Her forensic photography experience includes extensive work with injury photography, gross specimens, lighting and exposure techniques, macro photography, high speed photography, and full spectrum/alternate light photography to reveal images invisible to the human eye.
Kelland brings nearly two decades of award-winning video and photography experience to her role and remains keen to take her work to the next level.
