About Lacey Oden
In 2006, Lacey Oden began her career at the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office. Her first position was as a Detention Assistant at the Central Booking Center. One year later, Lacey was promoted to Evidence Technician, where, after a few months, she made a lateral move into the Crime Scene Unit as a Crime Scene Technician. For over 12 overs, Lacey has served as a Forensic Field Training Officer. In September 2020, she was promoted to Crime Scene Supervisor for the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office. In 2023, Lacey was promoted to Forensic Manager, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Crime Scene Unit, Latent Unit, and Evidence Unit.
Lacey is a certified Senior Crime Scene Analyst by the International Association for Identification (IAI). She is an Oklahoma State University graduate and is scheduled to graduate with a Doctorate in Forensic Science in December of 2024. Lacey has attended over 800 hours of specialized training in forensic disciples, FBI-LEEDA Executive Leadership, FBI-LEEDA Command Leadership, FBI-LEEDA Supervisor Leadership Institute, and various other leadership courses. Lacey is a certified FDLE Instructor and part-time Vocational Instructor for Escambia County School District, where she instructs cadets at the Law Enforcement Academy in the areas of on-scene security and preservation, crime scene processing, fingerprint examination, and courtroom testimony. In 2022, Lacey was elected to the position of Region 1 Director for Florida Division International Association of Identification. In 2023, she joined the Bluestar Forensic Team as an instructor, traveling the country and teaching agencies how to use Bluestar on crime scenes.
