This is an accelerated course that has the content of a five-day course presented over three days to help you prepare for the IAI Latent Print Examiner certification test.
One of the recommendations of the NAS report, “Strengthening Forensic Science in the United States: A Path Forward,” was that forensic science practitioners attain certification in their respective fields. Recent developments in the legislative branch of the federal government indicate movement toward adopting these recommendations. There are many people qualified to take the IAI Latent Print Examiner certification test who have not done so. Recent improvements to the certification test have made certification more obtainable than ever before.
The goal of this three-day workshop is to give examiners the motivation and confidence to take the first step. This class will guide examiners through the certification requirements, application process and preparing for each of the four parts of the examination (pattern interpretation, written exam, latent comparisons and case for review). Through lecture and group exercises examiners will learn how to increase their speed in order to successfully complete the exam. The instructors will equip the students with knowledge, strategies, and helpful tips that will enable the students to approach the exam with confidence and an enhanced chance for success.
