About Cameron Stauffer
Cameron Stauffer is currently employed by the Broward County Sheriff’s Office Crime Lab as a Forensic Scientist III within the Latent Print Unit. He holds a Bachelors of Science degree from the University of South Carolina in Biology and a Technical Certificate in Mathematics/English from the Technical College of the Lowcountry. He is also certified by the International Association for Identification as a Certified Latent Print Examiner (CLPE).
Stauffer began his career as a Tenprint Examiner at the Miami-Dade Police Department in 2013 and was promoted to a Latent Print Examiner in 2015. He was later hired by the Broward Sheriff’s Office as a Criminalist II in 2019. Cameron has presented on multiple occasions for the FDIAI Region 5, Miami-Dade Police Department, Miami-Dade Public Safety Training Institute, Miami-Dade Medical Examiner’s Office, FDIAI Annual Training Conferences, United States Customs and Border Protection, Broward Sheriff’s Office Department of Corrections and the Gold Coast Forensic Association. At those venues, he has instructed courses on Lifting and Processing Latent Prints, Taking Legible Prints, Courtroom Testimony, Latent Evidence Processing, ACE-V/Comparing Smart and Networking in Forensics.
Cameron is the current President of the FDIAI (Florida Division of the International Association for Identification) and is a member of the parent body IAI and Gold Coast Forensic Association. He previously was on the Latent Print Science and Practices Committee and is the current chairman of the Long Range Planning Committee for the FDIAI. He previously held the Region 5 Director position and oversaw Miami-Dade, Broward and Monroe counties from 2016-2019. Aside from his FDIAI duties, Cameron is also a board member of the Gold Coast Forensic Association and is a member of the Keiser University Crime Scene Technology and Forensic Investigations Advisory Board.
