Crime Scene Search Principles and Patterns
Crime scenes are very dynamic, fluid, and can be very challenging for investigators. Physical evidence links suspects and victims to crime scenes and can assist in solving cases. It is the responsibility of qualified crime scene personnel to not only recognize physical evidence but be methodological and systematic in their approach in locating, documenting, and collecting this evidence. At the completion of this 3-hour webinar (2 hour lecture, 1 hour practical exercise), the student will know search principles and patterns relevant to crime scenes they may respond to and how to apply these principles in successfully locating evidence that aid in the criminal investigation. A follow-up practical will ensure the objectives have been met. Students must complete the assignment in order to receive the certificate. This course is appropriate for all crime scene and law enforcement personnel and is considered to be at a basic level. Student Performance Objectives:
