About Deborah Lanata
Deborah Lanata has been with the Columbus (OH) Police Department for nearly 24 years. She has served as a Police Evidence Technician since 1999 and served as a Fingerprint Tech prior to that. In 2014, she became a Certified Senior Crime Scene Analyst with the International Association for Identification. Deborah has attended training with the FBI, ATF, IAI, the West Virginia University Forensic Science Inititive, and the Ohio Identification Officer’s Association where she currently serves on the board as 3rd Vice President. Additionally, Deborah is a Certified Instructor with the Ohio Peace Officers Training Academy in the topics of crime scene and evidence collection. She has routinely taught the Columbus Division of Police recruits in crime scene processing for the last 14 years.
