ETHICS & VALUES: CHOICES &CONSEQUENCES IN DIFFICULT SITUATIONS

Instructor: Pat A. Wertheim
Course length: 8 hours

Ethics training for forensic scientists normally teaches the rules or expectations that are socially enforced, such as codes of ethics and standards of professional conduct. These written codes and rules are easily found and well known by professionals. Most decision making is easy and involves only the simple application of these norms. But we are all confronted occasionally by situations in which the written rules of ethics seem wrong, but what seems right is against the rules. This webinar/workshop is designed to provide the attendee with the tools to make ethical decisions when confronted with complex problems in the course of their examinations in which no decision seems entirely satisfactory.

This course has been approved for 8 hours of certification/recertification training credits by following IAI Boards: Forensic Video, Tenprint, Bloodstain Pattern, and Latent Print
It has also been approved for 8 hours of recertification only by both the IAI Crime Scene & Footwear Certification Boards.*
