About Greg Suter
Greg Suter is currently a full-time Patrol Sergeant with the Sugar Land Police Department in Texas. He is also active on a multi-agency SWAT team where he serves as an Assistant Team Leader and Medic.
Greg has worked for the Sugar Land Police Department since 2010 and is certified by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement as an instructor. Prior to his law enforcement service, Greg was in the fire service and held roles including Lieutenant, EMS Coordinator, and EMS Training Officer. He also spent several years working for Fort Bend County EMS on a Mobile Intensive Care Unit Ambulance. Greg has been teaching EMS-related continuing education courses since 2007 when he presented such training to fire department personnel.
He actively holds certifications and teaches both inside and outside his Department in multiple disciplines including pre-hospital emergency medicine, firearms, tactics, and other SWAT-specific courses. As part of those roles, he is the lead medical instructor for CPR and Tactical Combat Casualty Care for a 170+ member police agency. He is also responsible for formulating Casualty Evacuation (CASEVAC) Plans/Procedures for all SWAT Operations and has coordinated large-scale, multi-agency tactical medical training scenarios.
Since January 2014, he has taught over 49 Tactical Combat Casualty Care courses to about 500 students resulting in approximately 2,000 training hours. He is also an American Heart Association CPR/AED Instructor and has taught at least 34 of these courses to about 300 students resulting in over 1,000 training hours.

Greg was named as his Department’s Officer of the Year in 2013 and recognized as one of the 100 Club of Houston’s Officers of the Year in 2014 for the 18-County greater Houston Area. He has been named as one of the City of Sugar Land’s top, Champion employees twice and also received his Department’s Chief’s Award of Excellence four times. In 2017, he was awarded the Police Commendation bar for outstanding performance involving great risk to his personal safety while performing his duties.
