Bloodstain Pattern Recognition
6 Hours
Violent crime scenes frequently involve blood shedding events that if properly recognized and documented not only can answer vital questions but allow for bloodstain pattern analysts to assist in rendering important opinions and lead to successful investigative outcomes. This workshop will provide the foundation for bloodstain pattern recognition in answering pertinent questions such as where people may be positioned on a crime scene, type of instrumentation used, directionality of bloodstains, effects of surfaces on bloodstains, and force applied. Chemical use for enhancing and detecting blood and documentation techniques for blood shedding events will also be examined.
This newly expanded webinar now includes an interactive exercise where students will have the opportunity to practice the skills introduced in the lecture series while being supervised in the virtual classroom. This webinar now includes six hours of virtual classroom activities plus a one-hour practical post-course exercise that is to be completed by the student within seven days of completion of the webinar.
