ADVANCED INVESTIGATIVE METHODS FOR STAGED MURDERS

Instructor:  Laura Pettler, Ph.D., MS, LPI
Course length:  24 hours

Advanced Investigative Methods for Staged Murders

By design, staged murder cases present unique circumstances aimed at thwarting criminal justice. The vision for this course is to introduce attendees to staged linguistic, visual, and gestural evidence towards building awareness of new investigative strategies specifically configured for use by investigators and prosecutors to enhance probable cause and/or prosecutability in factually strong, yet legally weak staged murder cases. Secondly, this course aims to identify and discuss victimology, the components of forensic victimology, and explore how to use Pettler’s Research-Based Forensic Victimology in the field in part to identify, solve, and clear staged murder cases. And third, this course introduces the basic concepts of Pettler’s Murder Room, victim-centered multidisciplinary death investigation methodology with its 98% solve rate for use by teams of law enforcement and experts for field application of staged murder cases.
